Tanning salon what tanning salon

As the title of this post suggests, just before the time of my potential consideration to getting into the tanning salon business, I had no idea of what a tanning salon looked like, what sort of people populated tanning salons and how a tanning bed appeared to be. I had no clue about tanning salons per se, let alone how sane of an idea it would be to even consider getting into the tanning salon business.

So why did I even consider this option? What led me into thinking along the lines of opening a tanning salon business? Well, I was what you call a newbie who had no idea whatsoever about tanning. Nevertheless, I was no rookie when it came to business.

I had invented a product that had applications in the welding business and I took it from invention to the formation of a real brick and mortar business. I had real manufacturing space and was making a real piece of manufactured good that found its customer base all over America, parts of Europe and Asia. It was nevertheless fairly small but produced a reasonable profit month after month and year after year.

But then after about thirteen years of good running, the economic collapse of 2009 came rolling in. Our sales had dropped dramatically. Profits had all vanished away and we were barely surviving. Just three years ago, I had put in a lot of money into the building of a new building to house our manufacturing business with plenty of room for expansion and here we were shrinking faster than we had ever imagined.

I started panicking and then one weekend I started looking at websites that were advertising small businesses for sale, with the thought that if I could find something cheap, I would buy it and bring it into my building and work at it hard to start getting some revenue from the empty space that was plentiful.
