Tanning salon maintenance

Maintenance costs for tanning salons is quite an important factor to be considered very seriously. The biggest costs for tanning salon equipment maintenance obviously are the tanning bulbs. Changing a whole set of bulbs for the entire equipment fleet in a tanning salon can ruin an entire months revenue. I planned to replace bulbs in tanning units in a staggered manner in order to spread out the maintenance costs on to a more level loaded manner.

Additionally, some types of stand up tanning booths are more maintenance prone and without mentioning names, you may have already guessed which ones I am referring to here. I also made a firm decision to stay away from the spray tanning booths because of the complexity of too many parts that can all fail one after the other. Sure they give a good tan when they work, but I certainly was not going to shell out a pretty penny every time they go down.

Computers and software including switching devices are generally low maintenance items and one need not worry too much about them. Air conditioning units can go bad or need some preventative maintenance done to them but that is not a show stopper I felt as far as setting aside money month after month after month.

General upkeep of the building by way of keeping it spick and span is important because a dirty tanning salon is almost sure to fail. Good janitorial activity is almost a must and since I was going to be the chief cook and bottle washer anyway, when I have nothing to do I would be spending my time dusting, brooming and mopping anyway.
